This is according to Global Firepower(GFP) which makes use of over 40 factors to determine each nation’s military power index. Some of these are the budget allocated to defence, human resource, and the firepower owned by the country.
Based on available information, the following countries represent the most powerful militaries in Africa as of Aug. 4 2014. The numbers reflect each country’s power index derived from a unique algorithm developed by GFP. The lower the number the stronger the military with a perfect score being 0.0000.
