Sunday January 20, 2019-Two Al-Shabaab terrorists were yesterday arrested as they tried to cross into Kenya from Somalia through Garissa County.
The militants, Aden Hassan Mohammed (22) and Ibrahim Ali Guyo (19), were apprehended after a taxi driver drove them into a police station.
The driver, name withheld for security reasons, had picked Aden and Ibrahim from Hoosingo area in Somalia and wanted dropped at Hamey area in Somalia.
However, on reaching Hamey they changed their mind and said they wanted to go to Hagadera in Kenya.
The driver became suspicious when they asked him to avoid highways and stick to unmanned routes.
This is when the driver tricked them and drove them right to the police station.
Upon reaching the police station, the two terrorists were arrested on the spot and officers recovered a Marakov Zeska pistol and several rounds of ammunition.
They also found a white powdery substance which has been taken for forensic examination.
